State police say a 12-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured after he was struck by a car in Tolland.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Police say the boy was crossing Burbank Road near Route 74 when he was struck by a car.

The boy was taken to a children's hospital with serious injuries. Police say he's in stable condition. Authorities didn't immediately identify him.

Police say the driver wasn't injured but was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Authorities are investigating.
