RICHMOND, CA : Passenger dies in I-80 crash, driver suspected of DUI on Sunday, January 29th 2017
A San Pablo woman died and another woman will be looking at DUI charges after a crash on Interstate 80 late Sunday, the California Highway Patrol said.Jessica Green, 21, died in the single-car wreck. which happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Cutting Boulevard exit in the westbound direction, according to Oakland CHP spokesman Officer Sean Wilkenfeld.
The 2003 Lexus driven by 21-year-old Lexus Taylor, of Richmond, ended up upside down, Wilkenfeld said. Green died after being taken by ambulance to a trauma center. She didn’t wear her seat belt and was ejected in the crash, Wilkenfeld said.
Taylor suffered major injuries but was expected to survive. The CHP believes she was under the influence of alcohol, and Wilkenfeld said she also will face several other unspecified charges.
