Culpeper, VA : 87-year-old Woodbridge woman was fatally injured in a collision on April, Tuesday, 18th 2017
An 87-year-old Woodbridge woman was fatally injured in a collision Tuesday, after authorities said a truck collided with her vehicle at an intersection.
Police charged the driver of the truck with failure to yield the right of way on a left turn, according to a department press release.
The driver, identified by Prince William County police as Duane Patrick Baugher Jr., of Warrenton, was released on a court summons.
Investigators said the 87-year-old woman, Christine Duncan Rosen, was taken to an area hospital, where she died.
Rosen was driving a 2007 Toyota Prius near the intersection of Old Bridge Road and Antietam Road in Woodbridge around 12:40 p.m., police said. Her car was traveling in the westbound lanes of Old Bridge Road, the release said.
Baugher was driving a 2004 Isuzu NPR truck. According to the release, Baugher was trying to make left turn onto northbound Antietam Road from eastbound Old Bridge Road, when the truck hit Rosen’s car.
Police said Baugher was not injured in the crash. An unidentified passenger in the truck was also not injured. Authorities do not believe that speed, alcohol or drugs are factors in the collision.
The release said the investigation continues.
