Batesville, AR : 2 teenagers killed, four injured after car strikes tree in Independence County on Monday night, Oct 26, 2015
Arkansas State Police say two juveniles were killed and four others injured after their car left the roadway and struck a tree.
State police say the wreck happened Monday night on McHue Road about 4 miles south of Batesville. A preliminary report says the driver of a Ford Mustang was traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred on the rain-slicked road.
Authorities did not release the names of those killed or injured because they are all juveniles. The state police report says the driver was among those injured.
Independence County Sheriff Steve Jeffery tells Jonesboro television station KAIT that all six juveniles were riding in the Mustang when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The sheriff says an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
