Libertyville, IL : Libertyville crash injures 3, shuts Route 45 at Route 137 on Thursday, 9th January, 2020

Two people were extricated from their vehicles and a total of three were transported to an area hospital Thursday morning in Libertyville after a six-vehicle pileup at Routes 45 and 137.
A Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputy was first on the scene around 7:44 a.m. and reported that at least one person was trapped inside their vehicle, according to Sgt. Christopher Covelli. He added that Route 45 had to be shut down because the crash involved multiple vehicles.
Route 45 was closed in both directions, between Peterson to Casey roads, for six hours because of the chain-reaction crash that involved vehicles headed in both directions, according to Sgt. Edward Swider of the Libertyville Police Department.
“Three drivers were transported from the scene in stable condition,” he said.
