Bismarck, ND : Two injured in Stark County crash on Sunday, February 5th 2017
Two Belfield, N.D., residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash near Belfield at 1 p.m. Sunday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The patrol said Jerry Ochoa, 27, Raymondville, Texas, was driving a 2013 Ford Supercab pickup truck west on Interstate 94 approaching the interchange with U.S. Highway 85 in Belfield.
Ryan Obrien, 42, was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup truck south on Highway 85, approaching the interchange with I-94.
The patrol said the Ford pickup failed to properly turn right at the end of an exit ramp. The Ford entered the intersection with Highway 85 and struck the Dodge pickup. Traffic was reduced to one lane while the vehicles were removed from the roadway.Obrien and his passenger, Ryan Hugelen, 43, Belfield, were injured and transported by Belfield Ambulance to CHI St. Alexius Health in Dickinson for treatment.
Ochoa and the passengers in his truck, Israel Escobar, 24 and Ubence Escobar, 30, both of Edinburg, Texas, were not injured.
The drivers and passengers in both vehicles were wearing seat belts.
Ochoa was cited for care required while driving.
The Stark County Sheriff’s Office, Belfield Police Department, Billings County Sheriff’s Office and Dickinson Fire Department also responded to the scene.
