Johnson County, TX : 6 dead, 3 injured after head-on collision off US 67 in Johnson County on Tuesday, 26th December 2023

The Texas Department of Public Safety has revealed the identities of some of the people involved in a deadly head-on collision that killed six and injured three on a highway in Johnson County Tuesday evening.

The fatal crash happened on U.S. 67 between CR 1234 and CR 1120.

According to a preliminary investigation released by Texas State Troopers, a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by 17-year-old Luke Resecker of Glen Rose with another teenage passenger was heading south on Highway 67 in an area where it's a two-lane road south of Cleburne.

Troopers believe the truck crossed over into the northbound lane in a no-passing area and struck a van carrying 7 people head-on.

The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed with NBC 5 that six people were killed and three others were injured as a result of the crash between the two vehicles.

Six of the seven people in the van died including two children, a 9-year-old girl and a 10-year-old. A 36-year-old woman, a 60-year-old woman, and a 64-year-old man were also killed in the crash.
