MANATEE COUNTY, FL : Pedestrian dies in Manatee County accident on Sunday, January 15th 2017

A pedestrian was struck and killed early Sunday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. Dead is Ashley Hasychak, 24, of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

According to the report, Gary Moses, 54, of Bradenton was traveling north on U.S. 41 in his Lincoln Town Car, approaching 55th Avenue West, when Hasychak stepped into the path of his vehicle about 12:49 a.m. Moses struck Hasychak, knocking her onto the sidewalk and into a light post.

Hasychak was transported to Blake Medical Center, where she died. Moses was not injured in the accident.

The incident remains under investigation.
