PHOENIX, AZ : 2 hospitalized after crash closes off SR 51 exit, roadway in north Phoenix on Monday, 19th February 2024

A serious injury crash early Monday morning closed a State Route 51 off-ramp for several hours.

Emergency crews were called to the area of SR 51 and Thunderbird Road around 5:30 a.m. Video from the scene showed a crash involving two pickup trucks and a van just off the 51, which ended up in a waterway. Phoenix police confirmed three vehicles were involved in the crash. The pickup truck had severe damage to its bed, and it appears that it was on fire before firefighters put out the flames.
