A woman has died after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Thursday night.
The accident happened at 9:48 p.m. on US 378 at American Avenue near Turbeville.
Sheryl Singletary, 50, of Turbeville, was walking westbound on US 378 when she was hit by a 2010 tractor-trailer that was also going west.
The Clarendon County Coroner’s Office said she died on the scene from injuries related to the accident.
An autopsy is pending at this time.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
