9-year-old dead, 2 injured in New York Brooklyn

Police and fire officials say a 9-year-old boy is dead and his mother and brother injured after an SUV jumped the curb onto a sidewalk in Brooklyn.The two vehicles may have collided or swerved to avoid a collision in Fort Greene at around 12:50 p.m. Police say the driver of SUV lost control and jumped the curb, pinning the child under the car. He was later pronounced dead.The child’s mother and brother were hospitalized. Their injuries were not life threatening.The drivers remained at the scene. Police are investigating.
