Bensalem, PA : 18-year-old woman killed when a tractor trailer overturned, crushing her car on the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Monday, April 25, 2016

One person was killed in a crash on the eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Monday between the Bensalem and Willow Grove interchanges, according to state police.

The victim appears to be an 18-year-old woman from New Jersey, according to Bucks County Coroner Dr. Joseph Campbell. Her identity was not released Monday because her next of kin had not been notified.

A tractor-trailer crashed and overturned about 3 p.m., ending up on top of a car, state police said. The accident was at mile marker 350.6 in Bucks County, about a quarter-mile before the Bensalem interchange. The section of the turnpike was closed through the afternoon commute and snarled traffic along alternative routes.

The tractor-trailer was carrying 20,000 pounds of detergent, state police said.
