St Johnsbury , VT : 29 - Years old driver and his passenger were killed in a Deadly Three Car Crash and car lost control and landed sideways in the passing lane on Friday , January 23rd 2015
Police have identified the two victims in a deadly three-car crash that shut down Interstate 91 late Friday.
Authorities say 29 year-old Justin Stephenson was behind the wheel of a car that plowed into a two-car accident scene in the northbound lanes near the St. Johnsbury/Lyndonville town line. Both Stephenson and his passenger, 38 year-old Ryan Nadeau, died of their injuries. Both were from Essex Junction.
Police say the initial accident took place around 9 p.m. when a car lost control and landed sideways in the passing lane. Another car hit that one and also stopped. Stephenson's car then hit the back of the second car. Police say neither operator or passenger were wearing seat belts.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident. They say speed and road conditions were factors in the crash.
