A Fairfield man and child were injured in a single-vehicle accident Friday in Lee County.

According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, at 5 p.m., 28-year-old Glenntavius M. Nolan was southbound on Highway 218 at 150th Street at 150th Street when his 2002 Toyota Camry entered the inside shoulder of 218. Nolan lost control of the vehicle, which entered the median, struck two highway signs and rolled, coming to rest on its wheels in the median facing east.

Nolan and his 5-year-old passenger were airlifted to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. Nolan was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The report did not specify whether the child was properly secured in the vehicle during the accident.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Assisting ISP at the scene were West Point Fire and Rescue, Houghton Rescue, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Donnellson Police Department, Lee County EMS, Henry County Health Center Ambulance, Air Evac and MedForce.
