Berks County, PA : Two Hamburg teens injured as deer jumps out, car crashes on Windy Road in Tilden Township on Tuesday night, May 17, 2016
Two Hamburg teenagers were injured seriously Tuesday night when the car they were riding in crashed in Berks County after the driver steered out of the way of a deer, police said.
Dayton R. Shirey, 21, of Myerstown was driving the car west on Windy Road in Tilden Township at 10:35 p.m. when the deer ran out and Shirey swerved into a ditch, state police at Hamburg said.
The car smashed into a tree stump in the ditch, about a quarter-mile east of Mountain View Drive, police said.
Shirey had minor injuries, but passengers Dylan Scott, 18, and an unidentified 17-year-old boy suffered severe injuries, police said.
