Mount Dora, FL : Man died in a three-car crash on State Road 46, near South Round Lake Road on Wednesday, December 23, 2015

A Mount Dora man died in a three-car crash between Sorrento and Mount Dora around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Anthony Jones, 57, was driving a Volkswagen Jetta east on State Road 46, near South Round Lake Road, Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Christopher Sorvillo said.

Michael Ambrosio, 45 of Apopka, crossed his Ford Ranger from the westbound lanes of S.R. 46 into the eastbound side, hitting Jones' car, Sorvillo said.

Jonathon Fernandez-Herak, 27, a Port Orange man in a Toyota Prius who was driving east behind Jones, struck the back of the Jetta after the crash, Sorvillo said. Fernandez-Herak then veered off the road and hit some brush and trees on the shoulder.

Jones was killed. The 15-year-old in the car with him seriously injured, as was Fernandez-Herak.

Ambrosio had critical injuries, Sorvillo said.

Troopers will investigate what caused the crash and decide whether to file charges, Sorvillo said.
