Kennard, TX : 1 cited after 2-vehicle crash on state Highway 31 southwest of Kennard on Wednesday, 24th May 2019

Two people were transported to area hospitals following a two-vehicle accident Wednesday on state Highway 31 southwest of Kennard.

Arlington and Kennard rescue squads and Washington County sheriff's deputies responded to the crash near Cattle Gate Lane just after 8 p.m.

According to Capt. Aaron Brensel, a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Lisa Flesner, 50, of Kennard, was stopped to turn onto Cattle Gate Lane when a northbound 2019 Lincoln MKZ, driven by Michael Boeka, 70, of Blair, approached at a high rate of speed.

Flesner saw the vehicle and attempted to move out of the way to the right. Boeka was driving too fast to avoid a collision and his vehicle struck the Suburban, which flipped onto its top and into the ditch, Brensel said.
