Tacoma, WA : 18-year-old Kent killed and four injured in single-vehicle crash east of Enumclaw on Sunday October 2nd 2016

An 18-year-old Kent man was killed and four people were injured when an intoxicated driver veered off state Route 410 east of Enumclaw and into a tree early Sunday, according to Washington State Patrol.

Paco Frees, a passenger in the single-vehicle crash, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Pierce County medical examiners.

The driver is suspected of one count of vehicular homicide and three counts of vehicular assault, the State Patrol said in a news release.

The 2:38 a.m. crash was about 23 miles east of Enumclaw and 6 miles east of the Pierce-King county line, the State Patrol said in the release.

According to the release:

The 18-year-old male driver of the totaled 1990 Honda Accord was believed to have been driving while intoxicated after a party. The Maple Valley man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with unknown serious injuries. He was wearing his seat belt. The hospital declined to give out information on his condition Sunday evening.

Frees was in the front passenger seat when he died.

A 16-year-old female was taken directly to Harborview Medical Center with a pelvic fracture. She was in serious condition.

An 18-year-old male passenger from Puyallup fractured his hip in the crash and was taken to Tacoma General Hospital.

A 20-year-old male passenger from Spanaway was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup with two displaced fractures in his left forearm, a right pelvic fracture, a right ankle fracture and a broken back. He was later transferred to Harborview Medical Center, where he was in stable condition. He was not wearing his seat belt.
