Lake Havasu City, AZ : Councilwoman, daughter injured following a two-car collision at the Highway 95 and Mulberry Avenue intersection on Friday, March 6, 2015

Police say the 5-year-old daughter of a Lake Havasu City councilwoman remains hospitalized after both were hurt in a vehicle collision.

The Today's News-Herald in Lake Havasu City reports Michele Lin's daughter was in stable condition Saturday at a Las Vegas hospital, where she was flown to after her spleen ruptured.

Police say Lin was driving southbound on Highway 95 Friday night when her Nissan Sentra somehow collided with another car.

Lin was treated and released Saturday morning.

The other driver, Cheyenne Reed, was treated and released for minor bruising.

Investigators say both drivers claimed to have the right of way. Neither speed nor alcohol appears to have been a factor.

Police say Lin, however, received a citation for not using a booster seat for her daughter.
