Thorn Township, OH : One dead, one seriously injured in two-car crash on State Route 13 in Perry County on Thursday, June 16, 2016

Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one driver dead and another with serious injured.

Officials from the Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said 19-year-old Layne Wilkes Crossett died after his Ford Escort went left of center, striking an oncoming vehicle.

Troopers said the crash happened at about 5:06pm on State Route 13 in Thorn Township. Crossett, of Rushville, was heading northbound when his car struck a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country Minivan driven by George P. Wilson Jr, 47, of Crooksville.

Both drivers were taken to Fairfield Medical Center. Crossett died at the hospital. Wilson remains in serious condition. Two passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
