Anne Arundel County, MD : Off-duty police officer involved in a fatal car accident on Friday December 4 2015

An off-duty police officer involved in a fatal car accident on March 21 outside Annapolis won't be indicted for criminal negligence, the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's office said Friday.
A grand jury decided not to indict Takoma Park police Officer Travis Ala after evidence was presented to it by prosecutors. The investigation was conducted by the Maryland State Police.
Ala is still facing charges of a road rage incident in Prince George's County.
Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams released a statement Friday saying Ala would still receive traffic citations for the accident on Route 50.
The Maryland State Police will issue Mr. Ala with the traffic citations for misconduct including: reckless driving, negligent driving, failing to control speed to avoid a collision, and driver changing lanes when unsafe," he said.
Neither Ala nor an attorney for him could be reached for comment.
Ala was under investigation after crashing his Nissan Xterra into the back of the Toyota Corolla driven by Susannah Badders, 19, of Manchester in Carroll County. Although he was off-duty, the Nissan was identified as one registered with the department.
Badders, Jason Simpkins, 19, of Ellicott City in Howard County and Badders' father, Raymond Badders, 63, also of Manchester, were passengers in the Toyota and also died in the crash.
Raymond Badders was announced dead at the scene — he was riding in the back seat — while Susannah Badders and Simpkins died the next day at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
