A 75-year-old Hayward woman died after being hit by a car near a park Tuesday, authorities said.

A 25-year-old woman driving a Honda Civic appears to have hit the woman while driving west on Boston Road, California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Dan Jacowitz said. The collision happened at the intersection of Hampton Road around 6:55 a.m., near Meek Park.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers, Jacowitz said. The CHP still was investigating, but drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.

Authorities did not identify the woman immediately.

The collision came hours after another person died on a freeway onramp. The CHP by Tuesday afternoon had not released an identification, gender or age on that person, who was was hit on the Hacienda Drive on-ramp to westbound Interstate 580 in Dublin around 1:12 a.m.
