Allentown, PA : A pedestrian struck by a tow truck in Monroe County on Tuesday, December, 26th 2017

A pedestrian struck by a tow truck in Monroe County was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday morning.

The tow truck was going south on Route 611 and its driver intended to turn onto Route 33, according to a news release from the Stroud Area Regional Police Department. The truck hit the pedestrian, who was in a travel lane, near the intersection in Stroud Township just before 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to the release.
