IROQUOIS COUNTY, IL : Hoopeston woman killed in Iroquois County crash on Wednesday, 31st July 2024

A Hoopeston woman was killed in an Iroquois County crash Wednesday.

Iroquois County Sheriff's deputies were called out for a crash between a car and a semi-truck at the intersection of Co. Rd. 2000 East and 1000 North in rural Milford just before 5 p.m.

Deputies said the driver of the car, 64-year-old Sara Rhodes, did not stop at the marked intersection. They said she went through the intersection and hit a westbound semi, driven by a 32-year-old Milford man.

The crash sent both vehicles into the ditch on the southwest side of the intersection and caused the semi to overturn.

Rhodes was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The semi driver was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene.
