Circleville, OH : Two injured in Saturday crash September 17 2016

A father and son were injured when the Budget box truck they were traveling in flipped on its side around 4:30 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 23 north of Tarlton Road. Deputy Jeremy Wallace, Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, said Ezra Cooper, 70, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, was driving a Budget box truck south on U.S. Route 23 when he veered off the right side of the road and traveled along a ditch for about 50 yards. As Cooper tried to bring the truck back up on the road he lost control and the truck flipped on its side trapping Ezra Cooper and his son, Stacy Cooper, 48, also of Vanceburg, Kentucky, inside the truck. Using both fire trucks from Circleville and Pickaway Township, firefighters stabilized the box truck from moving or rolling over while the father and son were extricated from the truck. Firefighters from Circleville used a new glass cutter tool to help in the extrication of both Coopers. Medics from MedCare Ambulance assisted at the scene. Ezra Cooper was transported to Berger Hospital by Circleville Fire and Stacy Cooper was taken to Berger Hospital by Pickaway Township Fire. MedFlight landed at the scene but no one was airlifted.
