American Falls, ID : Driver ejected, two children injured in rollover wreck on Interstate 86 in Power County on Friday afternoon, May 6, 2016
A 40-year-old Kimberly man was seriously injured and two juveniles were hurt in a single-vehicle rollover crash Friday afternoon on Interstate 86 west of American Falls, according to Idaho State Police.
The crash happened shortly before 4:03 p.m. when Antonio Chapa Jr. was driving a 2004 Nissan Titan east on I-86. A tire deflated and he lost control of the pickup. He drove into the median, rolled the vehicle, and came to rest on the westbound right shoulder of Interstate 86, state police report.
Chapa, who was ejected from the vehicle, was flown by air ambulance to the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.
Chapa's two juvenile passengers were taken by ground ambulance to the Power County Hospital in American Falls.
Chapa was not wearing his seat belt. Chapa's two passengers were wearing their seat belts.
The left lane of westbound Interstate 86 was blocked for about three and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
