Longview,TX : Marshall man pursued by police dies in wreck on January, Monday 29th 2018

A Marshall man died Monday when he was thrown from his vehicle after a police chase in West Marshall.

The Texas Department of Public Safety identified the man as Shane Hudson, 43. Troopers responded to the crash about 9:45 a.m. near Texas Loop 390 and Houston Street in Marshall.

Hudson was driving at a high speed and failed to stop at a stop sign, DPS said, colliding with a vehicle driven by Mauro Beltran, 36, of Marshall. Marshall police were in pursuit of Hudson, who had a warrant out for his arrest, in the moments before the crash.

Hudson wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected, according to DPS spokeswoman Sgt. Jean Dark. He was pronounced dead at Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center-Marshall.

Beltran was also transported to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
