Santa Fe, NM : A Texas man is dead following a fatal crash on Sunday, January, 7th 2018

A Texas man is dead following a fatal crash Sunday morning on U.S. 285 north of Clines Corners, according to a news release from New Mexico State Police.

Robert Granado of Big Spring, Texas was driving a 2006 Chrysler sedan northbound on U.S. 285, “at a high rate of speed” when he crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2017 Dodge Durango sometime before 9 a.m Sunday, the release said.

Granado, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, while his passenger was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital, and the driver and passenger of the Durango were taken to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe.

As of Monday evening, police had not released the names of the people injured in the crash, nor their medical status.
