Knoxville, TN : A 64-year-old Knoxville man was killed at East Knoxville County on Sunday, April 17th, 2016

A 64-year-old Knoxville man was killed Sunday night when his motorcycle left an East Knox County roadway and crashed in the woods, authorities said.

Around 8 p.m., Marcus Ray Smith was driving a 2006 Harley-Davidson north on Ellistown Road past Millertown Pike when the crash occurred, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

Smith was pronounced dead the scene.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the wreck, according to the Sheriff's Office.
