Prowers County, CO :Ambulance crashes into Prowers county canal on Monday, July 13th 2015
Colorado State Patrol troopers are investigating a crash involving an ambulance.Troopers said the ambulance was headed eastbound on Highway 50 three miles west of Lamar Monday afternoon when the driver lost control and crashed through a post, then launched into a canal and landed on a dirt embankment. The driver, 45-year-old Ronald Cook of Rocky Ford, an employee of Southern Colorado EMS of Manzanola, wasn't hurt.A second EMS employee, Edward Hollandsworth, was in the back of the ambulance with an elderly male patient when the crash occurred.He and the patient were taken to Prowers Medical Center in Lamar for treatment of minor injuries.State troopers said neither drugs or alcohol appeared to be factors in the crash.
