FONTANA, CA : Fiery roll over crash injures five, including two children on Tuesday, January 3rd 2017
Three adults and two children were hospitalized Tuesday afternoon when a car crashed on a 10 Freeway offramp in Fontana, flipped, crashed into another car and burst into flames.
California Highway Patrol investigators have not yet determined what caused the Nissan Sentra driven by a San Bernardino woman to collide with the raised curve at the top of the Sierra Avenue offramp around 12:40 p.m., according to a CHP news release. The car catapulted into the air, flipped and crashed roof-to-roof with a Honda Pilot heading north on Sierra Avenue.
The Nissan bounced off the Honda and landed on the Sierra Avenue on-ramp to the eastbound 10 Freeway, the news release said. That’s when it burst into flames.
Two children were also in the Nissan, the news release said. Two adults were in the Honda. All five were taken by ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Two of the victims — the news release didn’t say if they were children or adults — suffered major injuries.
