Clark County, OH : One person dead after a motorcycle and a pickup truck collided in New Carlisle on Wednesday night, March 16, 2016

The accident occurred when the southbound pickup truck attempted to turn from state Route 235 onto Dille Road, and the driver cut off the northbound Harley Davidson motorcycle, said Sgt. Richard Dixon of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Springfield Post.
The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the truck and the male motorcycle rider was killed on impact, Dixon said, adding that the truck driver suffered minor injuries. The victim was not wearing a helmet. However, a helmet may not have made a difference since the impact was significant, Dixon said.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the crash, he said.
As the weather starts to get warm, more motorcycles are going to be on the roadways, so drivers should be cautious, Dixon said.
“They are harder to see and they don’t have as many lights,” he said. “You are going to have to take an extra second before you turn or leave that stop sign or stop light to make sure that motorcycle is not coming.”
