A hit-and-run traffic crash Tuesday night caused a power outage for about 400 Colorado Springs Utilities customers.
Colorado Springs police said that at about 11:30 p.m., a vehicle traveling east in the 3600 block of West Colorado Avenue struck a utility pole and severed it from the ground. Electrical wires held up the pole, police said.
The driver of the car left the area on foot and has not been located, police said.
Power was restored around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Utilities said. Traffic traveling east and west on Colorado Avenue was blocked from Ridge Road to Columbia Street until about 7:30 a.m. as utilities crews repaired the damage, police said.
