Hickory, NC : 33-year-old man killed in Hickory crash on Tuesday morning, November 11, 2014

A motorcycle driver was killed Tuesday morning after colliding with a car at a Hickory intersection. Police say 33-year-old Steven Ray Lingle was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson when he hit a 1997 Toyota Avalon, driven by 27-year-old Matthew Ervin Lyons. The crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of 8th St Dr SE and 11th Av Ct SE. Lingle was in the right lane, traveling south on 8th St Dr SE and the Toyota was attempting to make a left turn onto 11th Av Ct SE when the collision happened. EMS took Lingle to Frye Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Lyons was not injured in the accident. The Hickory Police Department is investigating the crash and charges are pending.
