Boston, MA : Pedestrian dies in Hingham crash on Monday December 5th, 2016

A pedestrian died in a crash in Hingham Monday morning, police said in a Facebook post.

Around 11:14 a.m., a 56-year-old Bridgewater woman was hit by a truck on George Washington Boulevard in front of the Hingham District Courthouse.

A 23-year-old Hingham man, driving a 2016 Ford F350, was traveling north on the boulevard when he struck the pedestrian in the road, according to police. He stayed at the scene.

Police said both the pedestrian and the driver, whose identities have not been released, were taken to South Shore Hospital by ambulance. The Bridgewater woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the post.

No citations or charges had been filed against the driver as of Monday evening, and the crash remained under investigation, police said.
