Quincy, IL : Scooter driver injured in crash at Fifth and Maine on Friday, April 29, 2016

A scooter driver was injured at 1:09 p.m. Friday in a crash at Fifth and Maine.

Connie L. Sparks, 64, of 327 Elm, was taken by ambulance to Blessing Hospital for treatment. No information was available Monday from the hospital on Sparks' condition.

The Quincy Police Department reported Monday a 2013 Honda CRV-LX driven by Whitley J. Allerheiligen, 27, of 1222 1/2 Kentucky, was driving south on Fifth, turning left to travel east on Maine, when the vehicle collided with Sparks, who was in the middle of the crosswalk driving a blue electric Legend scooter.

Allerheiligen was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield in a crosswalk.
