CARROLL COUNTY, VA : Two teens dead, two injured after early morning crash in the 3100 block of Sylvatus Highway/Route 100 on Sunday, 8th November, 2020

Two teenagers are dead and one was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following an early morning crash in Carroll County on Sunday.

Virginia State Police say the single-vehicle crash took place at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, in the 3100 block of Sylvatus Highway/Route 100.

According to police, a 1980 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Route 100 when it struck a deer, ran off the left side of the road, hit a fence, overturned, and crashed into a utility pole.

The 16-year-old male driver from Fries, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but authorities say he was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
