Redwood City, CA : Google bus cut off before Highway 101 crash in Redwood City on Thursday morning, September 11, 2014
A Google bus taking employees to work Thursday morning was cut off by a Toyota Land Cruiser, causing a minor three-vehicle collision in Redwood City, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at about 7:40 a.m. on southbound Highway 101 near Whipple Avenue, CHP Officer Art Montiel said.
A woman was driving the Land Cruiser with her 11-year-old daughter inside, Montiel said. She suffered minor injuries and was taken to Stanford Hospital; the girl was picked up by her father.
No one in the large white Google bus or the other vehicle was injured, Montiel said. Some of the debris from the crash hit a fourth vehicle, but those occupants weren't injured.
An investigation into the crash will be conducted, Montiel said, adding that the woman was not arrested.
"She made an unsafe lane change," he said.
The bus was shuttling employees to Google's campus in Mountain View and no one inside it was hurt, a company spokesperson confirmed.
