Man targeted in a hit-and-run crash in Collingdale
Collingdale, Pennsylvania
Police say a man was targeted in a hit-and-run crash in Collingdale, Delaware County Saturday morning.
The incident happened just before 5:30 a.m. on the 900 block of Bedford Avenue.
According to police, the suspect was driving a Range Rover when he intentionally accelerated down a dead end street.
He then crashed into the victim who had just left his home and was getting into his Cadillac.
Police say the impact from the crash caused the victim to be thrown in the air. He landed several feet away.
The suspect then crashed into a parked Chrysler 300 and jumped out of the Range Rover, fleeing in a getaway car waiting at the top of the street.
Police say the fleeing vehicle is believed to be a light blue in color SUV type occupied by a male and female.
The victim was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center.
He may have suffered a fractured leg and head injury. He is listed in critical condition.
Police say they have the striking vehicle at an impound lot.
So far, there have been no arrests or word on a motive for the hit-and-run.
