Deerfield Beach, FL : 11 people injured in a multiple vehicle crash on Southeast 10th Street Sunday night, Aug 23, 2015

A multiple-vehicle crash injured at least 11 people on Southeast 10th Street late Sunday night, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

The crash happened about 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Southeast 10th Street and Southeast Second Avenue.

One adult female was taken to Broward Health North in Deerfield; the child was flown to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, said Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles.

Two other adults were trauma alerts and were taken to both hospitals, Jachles said. The others were not as seriously injured, Jachles said.

Southeast 10th was closed so a rescue helicopter could land at Zion Lutheran School.

No other information was available Sunday night.
