WICHITA, KS : Woman dies after suffering medical emergency crashing into Newton Walmart on Friday, 26th January 2024

A 69-year-old woman has died after suffering a medical emergency and crashing her car into the Newton Walmart, a city spokesperson said.

The incident happened shortly before noon Friday morning at the Walmart at 1701 S Kansas Road. Several KAKE viewers sent in photos of the scene, showing a black Ford Focus halfway into the Vision Center.

The woman was identified late Friday afternoon by Newton Police as 69-year-old Wanda Hoyle. Police say her family has been notified.

A City of Newton spokesperson said first responders pronounced Hoyle dead at the scene.
