Tufkin, TX : East Texan killed in Lufkin crash near the Ellen Trout Zoo on Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2014

The Lufkin Police Department has released the name of the man killed in a crash over the weekend near the Ellen Trout Zoo. According to a preliminary crash report, Timothy Lee Snead, 28, of Huntington, was taken to Saint Lukes Memorial hospital after his motorcycle collided with a car Sunday afternoon near the intersection of Highway 69 and Ellen Trout Drive. He later died from his injuries. The driver of the car was identified as Marilyn F. Crawford, 68, of Hazlehurst, Georgia. A 6-year-old child was also inside the vehicle. Both passengers were uninjured. Next of kin has been notified. Crawford was ticketed for an unsafe lane change. The crash remains under investigation.
