Abilene ,TX : Winters Freeway motorcycle crash victim identified on Friday Morning ,July 31st 2015

A 22-year-old Abilene man died in a motorcycle crash about 9 a.m. Friday on the Winters Freeway, Abilene police said.

The man was traveling north on the freeway when he left the roadway and struck a light pole near the Ambler Avenue exit, police said.

Police said speed might have been a factor in the accident. The man was wearing a helmet.

Police did not release the man’s identity pending notification of next of kin.

There was another minor accident in the southbound lane, as a man in a truck struck the rear end of a vehicle that had slowed down because of the motorcycle accident, per police.

There was significant damage to the car but no details on any injuries, according to police.
