A 20-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car and killed Friday night in West Milwaukee, police said

Marcus J.J. Canales of Milwaukee suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead after being hit near 4401 W. Greenfield Ave. around 8:20 p.m.

The driver of the car was taken into custody and is suspected of operating under the influence, police said.

Police are investigating the incident
