Fort Pierce ,FL : One child killed and four others Hospitalized after deadly crash along the Florida Turnpike on Thursday morning ,May 28th 2015

St. Lucie County Fire Rescue responded Thursday to crash along the Florida Turnpike near Fort Pierce.

The crash involved a semi tractor-trailer and a Dodge caravan. According to FHP, the crash happened just before 9 a.m.

Two adults and 3 children were in the caravan. One child died at the scene. Two were airlifted to an area hospital. The other two people were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.

Investigators are not sure what caused the crash.
