Orange County ,FL : 13- Years old hit by car near middle school in Orange County on Tuesday , August 25th 2015

A 13-year-old boy has been taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle near a middle school, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.

The crash happened at 4:10 p.m. on South Chickasaw Trail and Cascade Road near Liberty Middle School.

Lendell Adrine, 27, was driving his Acura vehicle north on Chickasaw Trail when the boy attempted to cross Chickasaw Trail from the east to the west, troopers said.

Witnesses said Adrine passed stopped traffic, traveled over the double yellow line and was traveling in the southbound lanes of Chickasaw Trail when the front of his vehicle struck the boy, according to the Florida Highway Patrol's report.

Fire officials said the boy had several injuries to his head and leg. He was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital.
