Deland, FL : Man dies after being dragged in hit-and-run early Saturday morning, May 21, 2016

A man is dead after Volusia County authorities believe he was hit by a car and dragged several feet early Saturday morning.

DeLand Police say they found the man at about 5 a.m. near the intersection of N. Clara Avenue and W. Michigan Avenue.

?Investigators report the man was likely hit by a car and dragged 50 to 60 feet, but the cause of death is still under investigation.

?"It’s awful," said resident Amy Jones, who lives near the intersection. "I hope they find whoever did it and that person’s family can get closure.”

?Police say the victim did not have any identification, but is believed to be about 30 years old.
