Jacksonville, FL : Driver dies in single-car crash on I-295 north of Beach Boulevard on Friday, March 31, 2017

One person was killed in an overnight crash on the Southside, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash took place at 12:23 a.m. Friday on Interstate 295 just north of Beach Boulevard. Troopers said the driver was in a Mercedes S550 going south when it veered onto the inside shoulder and hit a concrete barrier. The car overturned and the driver was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, according to FHP.
