Lynchburg, VI : Schuyler man dies in fatal deer collision on Sunday night, December 25, 2016

A man died Sunday night after the vehicle he was driving struck a deer and then a tree in the 1900 block of Irish Road.

According to Albemarle County police, David N. Gorman of Schuyler was traveling eastbound on Irish Road in an older-model truck around 8 p.m. when he struck a deer, lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. He was the only person inside the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

This is the seventh fatal crash investigated by Albemarle police this year.
