Bryan County, OK : Three people inured after Head-on collision on highway 75 Red River Bridge on Thursday May 12th, 2016

A scary scene on a Texoma highway Thursday afternoon, after a driver headed the wrong way crashed into oncoming traffic.
Truck driver Tammy George spends many hours driving on Texas highways, but says what she witnessed Thursday was a first.
“When I approached on the bridge there was a car coming straight at us on the wrong side of the bridge,” George said, “and the car right next to me must not have seen right away because they smacked head on.”
Troopers say around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon an elderly woman was driving the wrong way on highway 75 south and crashed into another car head-on on the Red River Bridge.
“It's not our first time,” said Lt. Scott Hampton, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, “but it’s not too often thank goodness because these are usually pretty serious collisions but unfortunately it does occur.”
George says while this may be a rare occurrence, she's just thankful she was paying attention.
"It wasn't pretty,” she said, “it was loud. I mean you're doing 60-55 mph. I could get out of the way, but I wasn't sure what the car next to me was going to do."
And while facing a driver going the wrong way is a terrifying thing, Troopers say fortunately it didn't last too long.
"It would base it off of calls,” he said, “it just happened, based off of calls generally we get calls very rapidly on that and since the calls just started I would say either it started at information center or the next exit."
All three people involved were taken to the hospital listed in serious condition.
